Les Fenêtres II
Ali Gorji: Les Fenêtres II
In his 2005 book Hyperkulturalität, Byung-Chul Han describes the globalized world as a "hypertextually composed world" made up of countless windows. "Windowing" is the act of sliding from one window to the next, from one possibility to another. It enables an individual narrative, a personal design of existence. The series of works, "Les Fenêtres" (The Windows), is based on this idea. Various modules (or windows), which can be grouped into categories, are available to the musicians. From these windows, combined with improvisational interludes, they compose the "identity" of each version of the piece.
