Between 1998 and 2001, I was searching for a new form that went beyond the common and existing forms in Iranian music, such as Pishdaramad, Reng, Gheteh Zarbi, Chaharmezrab, Tasneif, etc. I wanted to achieve a more comprehensive form, either by using a combination of these traditional forms or by creating something entirely new, in which the previous forms would be a subset. Since I had a narrative storyline in mind for this form, I was ultimately inspired by the poem symphonic to create a form that I named "Ghesseh" (Story).
My collection of musical "stories" includes three pieces titled "Entezar" (Waiting), "Maral," and "Shourideh." These pieces have a story-like content, composed based on my own poetic narratives. Beyond their original stories, this collection of pieces can also create a new story for the listener within their own core, or each piece can, on its own, evoke a different meaning in the mind. Or, none of them may describe anything at all, existing simply as a piece to be heard without any preconceived notions, descriptions, or interpretations.
